Our clients range from domestic as well as commercial and local authorities. The kind of work we do includes: tree surgery, crown reductions, pollarding, crown thinning, deadwood removal, crown raising, felling, fruit tree pruning, site clearances, hedge cutting, horse logging, log splitting, hedge reductions, stump grinding and tree planting.
Being based on the Wiltshire/Dorset boarder it enables us to cover Dorset/Wiltshire and the surrounding areas providing a high quality service at a competitive rate.
No job is too big or too small, the same level of care and attention is given to all of our workloads, from pruning a small apple tree to dismantling a large tree stood over a property.
Our History
Damory Tree Care was set up by myself ten years ago in Blandford having previously worked for other tree surgeons locally.
We are a small business covering most of Wiltshire/Dorset and the surrounding areas, we pride ourself on offering a high quality service at a competitive rate.
All of our workers are highly skilled and hold all of the relevant qualifications needed to carry out work in a safe manner. Our public liability insurance covers us for up to ten million pounds, giving you peace of mind in the unlikely event that an accident should occur and your property is damaged. (this can’t be said for other company’s offering a similar service to us)
We also offer an emergency call out service particularly resulting from extreme weather conditions that cause storm damage to trees.
FAQS
Do I need permission to do work on my trees?
If your property is in a conservation area or your trees have tree preservation orders on them then an application must be made to the council to be able to work on them. Every conservation area has a blanket order covering all trees with a central stem diameter of 7.5cm at 1.5 meters from ground level. This does not generally apply to shrubs and hedges.
We make the applications for works at no extra charge to you once you accept our quote. Some of our competitors will charge for the application process.
Are you insured?
Yes, we are covered with 10 million pounds public liability insurance. Not all tree surgeons are insured and it’s your responsibility to check that the people you hire to carry out works are insured if the worst case scenario happens and your property is damaged and you want to make a claim.
Can I cut back over hanging branches from my neighbours tree?
Yes you can cut back branches to the boarder but you must not trespass and you must not make the tree unsafe. We advise communicating with your neighbour and getting a qualified tree specialist in to prune back the limbs without making the tree unsafe. Removing all the branches that over hang, known as ‘siding up’, is not good for the tree as it makes it unbalanced.
How much does tree surgery cost?
Each and every job is different so there’s not a set price, we don’t work on hourly rates instead we give a fixed price quote based on the work you require.
Things that we take into account when quoting are: access, size of job, the amount of waste to remove, the amount of men needed on the job, are any machines needed such as a cherry picker for unsafe trees, how many days do we anticipate it to take, how technical is the job….. there are many variables when it comes to quoting but we always try to be as competitive as possible.
How can I tell if my tree is dangerous?
If you own trees it is your responsibility to make sure they are in a safe condition. Assessments should be carried out by qualified arboricultural consultants who will assess and survey your trees and compile a report based on their findings.
Insurance companies will want to see these reports to cover you if one of your trees causes damage. By having regular surveys you would have done all you can to cover yourself and make sure your trees are safe.
